maar nu zijn we weer op een andere plek
waar zijn we nu of waar ben jij nu

bij mij thuis

ja het was
fijn om de podcast op te nemen in een
professionele ruimte
maar ja thuis is wel altijd wat makkelijker
en dat is ja ook voor de meeste dingen denk ik
thuis is voor de meeste mensen
wel fijn om dingen te doen ook
dus ook voor onze podcast
is het makkelijk om dit thuis te doen
zodat we
ja elke week makkelijk een gesprek
kunnen hebben over het thema
en ja ik denk ook voor
de studenten want ja we hebben geen
locatie voor de school
maar de lessen zijn in de virtuele wereld
dus iedereen kan vanuit huis
makkelijk meedoen met de lessen
en ja ik denk het is ook makkelijker om na een
lange werkdag
ja even een kort lesje mee te doen
in plaats van dat je
uit je huis moet naar een locatie en daar de hele avond
moet zitten

dat zijn een paar voordelen denk ik vanuit je eigen huis
vanuit je comfortabele ruimte inderdaad

is het een verwarring dat je zegt ik ga naar mijn thuis

soms is het fijn om thuis te zijn

in de in de Winter of in de herfst als het
weer wat minder goed is
dan heb je toch wat minder motivatie
om naar buiten te gaan
en is het fijn om ja lekker thuis te zitten
dus ik ik vind het fijn om een
gezellige thuis te hebben
maar ook om af en toe
ja als een sociale vlinder
naar buiten te gaan en ja op
op avontuur te gaan een beetje
en en voor jou heb jij een voorkeur
ja eigenlijk een beetje hetzelfde
als wat jij zegt
ik voel me best wel snel ergens thuis
of ik kan me snel ergens thuis voelen buiten de deur
maar ik vind het ook heel fijn om thuis te zijn
en ik denk dat
het gevoel voor thuis
niet per se een plek of een locatie is in
rondom mijn huis maar
een plaats in de zon is voor mij heel snel een thuisgevoel
dus of dat dan op mijn eigen balkon is
of in de tuin van mijn ouders
of aan de andere kant van de wereld
als ik in de zon ben voel ik me thuis
en is dat het gevoel voor mij
en dus dat is altijd
in de gerelateerd aan de zomer in Nederland misschien
of de lente
maar ik probeer ook steeds meer
gewoon lekker thuis in Nederland te voelen
ja ja en jij
jij zei ook van oostwest thuisbest
is misschien wat verder weg of
uit Nederland
maar voel jij je thuis in Nederland
ja ja ja ik denk dat ik me snel thuis voel ergens
dus dat maakt niet heel veel uit
waar dat is precies
als ik kijk naar mijn leven
en ook
ja ik ik weet niet heb jij dat je snel
op je gemak voelt
als je verhuisd bent naar een nieuwe plek
duurt het lang voor jou om te wennen
aan de nieuwe locatie om je daar thuis te voelen
of gaat dat snel
hmm ik ben niet zo vaak verhuisd
maar de keren dat ik
ben verhuisd in Nederland
is het altijd wel even
ja
een verschil tussen
thuisvoelen in je huis en een thuisvoelen in je buurt
denk ik en in mijn huis kan ik me wel snel thuis voelen
door je eigen plekje te creëren
en
in de buurt zelf moet je toch nog een beetje
meer rondkijken of
rondgaan en dingen doen om je thuis te voelen
of in contact komen met de buren
dat soort dingen
maar bijvoorbeeld
ben ik ook een aantal keer op uitwisseling
gegaan voor mijn taal
verwerking
dus op de middelbare school naar Spanje
en op de universiteit naar Argentinië
en dan ga je in een gastgezin verblijf je dan
en daar voel je dan ook best wel snel thuis
door de mensen vooral
en niet zo zeer door het huis weer of het gebouw
dus ik denk dat dat wel een grote rol speelt
in het thuis voelen
op een plek een nieuwe plek
maar als ik
het niet over de mensen nadenk en echt alleen de plek
en je neemt een aantal van je eigen spullen mee
kan je je wel thuis voelen denk ik
ja ja precies
heb jij ooit een uitwisseling gedaan
ja een paar keer maar ja ik denk dat ik al als ik
een week ergens in een Airbnb zit dat ik me al
mentaal is dat mijn nieuwe huis of zo
voor die korte periode
ik denk ja ja het is het is sowieso een beetje
een nieuw concept
natuurlijk voor
mensen dat je op vakantie gaat en dat je
tijdelijk in een andere
op een andere plek woont en zo
maar ja dus voor mezelf mentaal
creëer ik
een soort thuisgevoel al best wel snel op een nieuwe plek
en ja dat heb ik ook wel gehad
in andere landen met andere culturen
maar ja
misschien op de langere
termijn is dat juist weer wat moeilijker
dus voor de korte termijn
gaat dat alleen om daar echt
te integreren en je echt thuis te voelen
dat is vaak wel een een ander verhaal
dan ja
ga je ook werken daar
je hebt een vrienden cirkel
ja je hebt je routine daar
en ik denk
nou als je ergens voor een kortere periode bent
dan zijn het vaak leuke dingen die je
doet en is het meer een beetje een vakantie gevoel
dus dat is ja gewoon een
een leuke ervaring maar
of het echt
een gevoel van thuis is dat dat weet ik niet
ik denk dat duurt meestal wat langer voordat je dat
ergens hebt maar ja
ja en als je juist op reis gaat
ga je dan op zoek naar dat thuisgevoel en comfort
of wil je juist
veel meer avontuur en je
ben je niet zoveel bezig met
je thuis voelen als je op vakantie bent
ja wel een beetje ik vind het wel fijner om
naar bijvoorbeeld een een Airbnb te gaan
of ook een kamer bij iemand anders in zijn huis
dan een hotelkamer soms ja het ligt een beetje aan de reis

maar ja bijvoorbeeld bij mijn laatste reis in Mexico
was ik ook bij een Airbnb
op een kamer bij
ja andere mensen die daar vandaan komen ook
en naast dat het ja
interessant was om bij iemand thuis te zijn
was het ook
leuk om allemaal extra activiteiten te doen met hun
en ja een beetje een kijk te hebben
van ja hoe is hun leven daar
dit was in in Mexico stad
heb je dat gedaan via couch surfing
of was dat een
het platform waarbij je bij mensen thuis slaapt
of was het via Airbnb
ja dit was via Airbnb
maar ik heb het in het verleden ook via couch surfing
gedaan inderdaad
oh ja ja en
dus ja op
in verschillende landen dus bijvoorbeeld in Indonesië
maar ook in Marokko
en ja dan betaal je ook niet voor een kamer
het is wat minder transactioneel zeg maar
dus het is meer gewoon
ja je bent eigenlijk
te gast bij iemand
en logeer ja kamer heb je dan
precies en meestal ga je een beetje mee met
de routine van die persoon
en je laat je een beetje leiden
van wat voor dingen je gaat doen op die plek
en ja ja
de de de leuke dingen voor mij zijn meestal meer
meegaan met hun vrienden
een avondje wat drinken
overdag misschien naar een specifieke locatie gaan
en ja niet per se naar de de mooiste plekken
of de ja de bekende plekken de toeristische plekken
toeristische
nee het is echt het dagelijkse lokale leven
meedoen inderdaad
ja ja ja precies leuk
ik heb jij dat
gedaan in in Jakarta
was ook een hele leuke ervaring om daar
op bezoek te gaan bij mensen en daar gewoon
het inderdaad het leven mee te doen
en ik was toen op reis met mijn beste vriendin
en zij woont nu in
Flores in Indonesië
en daar heeft ze een homestay geopend
dus ook een beetje het concept van
een ja Airbnb maar dan bij je thuis
en ik Wil daar nog heel graag naartoe
ik ben er nog niet geweest
het is in Ruteng dus een dorpje
in de bergen van Flores
en dat is staat echt op mijn lijstje om haar homestead
nog een keer te bezoeken binnenkort
ja zij komt uit Indonesië
of haar familie komt uit Indonesië
ja haar vader is geboren in Indonesië en zij
zelf in Nederland met Nederlandse moeder
maar het is een het is een Indo in in principe
maar ze woont nu dus
wel in Indonesië met met haar homestay die ze runt
en een taalschool voor Indonesische
kinderen om Engels te leren heeft ze daar geopend
dus het is wel mijn droom
om daar nog een keer op bezoek te gaan
ja leuk en
ja ik denk dat
was ook een beetje
jouw droom of is ook een beetje jouw droom
denk ik een een taalschool ook in het buitenland
ja
je had het idee om dat bijvoorbeeld in
in Spanje te hebben toch
ja ja
het was inderdaad altijd mijn droom en idee om een
taalhotel, of een combinatie van reizen met
taal leren op te zetten
en ja naarmate ik altijd
buiten Nederland zocht naar deze kansen
ben ik juist gaan realiseren dat je dat ook
die ja die ervaringen in Nederland kan brengen
en juist de de mooie momenten
hierin kunt creëren
dus het idee van een hostel was eigenlijk altijd
de droom om een
hotel te hebben met een gemeenschappelijke ruimte
een huiskamer eigenlijk
waar iedereen samen komt
maar je kan dat dus ook hier gewoon doen juist nu
hebben we het online
en in de toekomst ook op een fysieke locatie
zou leuk zijn
waar iedereen langskomt
niet per se om te slapen maar wel
waar iedereen zich thuis kan voelen
voor een koffie of een thee of een ontbijtje
en dan taal kan leren en gebruiken en een gezellige
thuis kan voelen
ja het is helaas geen tropisch Indonesisch eiland
maar nee we kunnen dat misschien een beetje
namaken in Nederland ja
past wel in Texel hebben we het heel
heel gezellig gehad met de warme dagen
dus in de zomer kan het altijd mooi zijn
ja precies ja wat ik ook veel heb gehad
juist door veel te reizen en veel plekken te zien
ben ik ook steeds meer mijn eigen thuis gaan waarderen
dus
mijn waardering voor Nederland is wel groter geworden
en daarnaast vind ik het ja nog steeds heel leuk om
op avontuur te gaan en
en op vakantie te gaan en andere plekken te ontdekken
maar ja ik ik denk ook Nederland is een heel heel fijn
land een fijne thuis om te hebben
en een mooie basis ook
om ja toch andere plekken te ontdekken
maar de
de drang van mij om echt in het buitenland te wonen
en daar iets te starten wordt wel steeds minder
en heb jij dat ook ja
ja en waarom denk je dat het minder is geworden
of minder wordt
ja ik denk ook de realisatie
dat het maakt eigenlijk niet uit waar je bent
dat gevoel is toch meestal wel hetzelfde
en ja uiteindelijk
ja nou wat ik zelf leuk vind is om iets te creëren
om iets op te zetten
en ja de realisatie dat je eigenlijk ook kan
reizen binnen Nederland
als in je kan letterlijk naar verschillende plekken
maar
ook door met alle internationale mensen te spreken
bij de going Dutch community heb ik ook
vaak het gevoel dat ik
veel aan het reizen ben zonder dat ik
daadwerkelijk naar dat land ga
en als ik dan de kans krijg om
zeg maar voor 2 weken ergens naartoe te gaan
dan kan ik daar juist heel erg van genieten
dus ja misschien ook
omdat ik het leuk vind
om verschillende plekken te zien
dan kan ik toch niet kiezen van waar Wil ik wonen
waar Wil ik wonen
ik heb zo lang nagedacht van ah wat
wat is een plek voor mij
waar zou ik naartoe willen gaan
en uiteindelijk is het gewoon Nederland geworden
ja voor nu dus
oostwest thuisbest precies
ja maar we hebben het wel dan op die manier gecreëerd
door inderdaad
veel met met veel mensen in contact te zijn
en via de community
ben je in contact met de hele wereld
je leert de hele wereld kennen vanuit je eigen huis
en dat is het mooie aan wat we doen inderdaad
ja ja maar wat is het
eerste wat jij doet als je thuiskomt van een
vakantie wat heb je meestal het meest gemist
een een eierkoek met hagelslag
ja
ja ik moet zeggen ik hou daar wel van
en en een saucijzenbroodje
dat zijn ook dingen die ik
echt lekker vind in Nederland
en eigenlijk het eerste wat ik doe is
kraanwater drinken
dus ja het ligt een beetje aan waar je vandaan komt
als je uit de Zwitserse alpen komt dan is het misschien
minder goed hier
maar ja uit veel landen kan je
in veel landen kan je niet uit de kraan drinken
nou nee
je kan het wel doen maar misschien niet het beste idee
dus ja gewoon het gemak van
altijd uit de kraan kunnen drinken
is iets waar je niet heel erg bewust
over nadenkt
maar als je dat dan een paar weken niet hebt kunnen doen
dan vind ik dat ja
ja ja inderdaad

ja ja dat daar sta je niet bij stil die kleine dingen
nee precies heb heb jij iets specifieks wat je doet
als je terug bent
nee ja ook al
kaas en hagelslag eten denk ik
en misschien ook
ja de koffie uit mijn eigen koffieapparaat
want niet in alle landen is de koffie altijd even
goed of verkrijgbaar
en sowieso ook je eigen bed en je eigen toilet
is voor mij ook een hele
fijne plek om terug te komen
maar in principe
ja ben ik altijd
heb ik een beetje hardpijn
op het moment dat ik weer naar
huis ga maar als je dan eenmaal weer thuis bent dan
ben je ook wel weer blij
ja precies ja
voor mij is nu de de sweet spot is
is zeg maar 2 en halve week of zo
als ik langer ga dan dat
dan wil ik nooit meer terug naar huis
en als ik korter
ga dan dat dan heb ik niet het gevoel gehad
dat ik echt de plek heb leren kennen genoeg
ja dus ja dat is een mooie
mooie lengte
ja daar ben ik het wel mee eens
ja heb je voor nu nog een
dingen locaties
plekken op je bucketlist
vast wel maar wat staat er in je top een of 2 of 3
ja de de bucketlist is is oneindig denk ik
ja maar ik heb wel een concrete reis gepland
en dat is
ja eerst naar Hongkong
en vanuit Hongkong naar de Filipijnen
ja
en ja dat is ook een reis van 2 en halve week dus
ja wel 2
landen natuurlijk
dus we gaan ook naar Hongkong voor een paar dagen maar
op de de Filipijnen
ja wat langer
en
het is weer een tijdje geleden dat ik in Azië ben geweest
en vooral zeg maar Zuid Oost Azië een beetje
dus ja ik heb er extreem veel zin in
dus als er nog wat filipino's
aan het luisteren zijn en ze hebben wat tips
ik sta altijd open voor alles
we hebben
best veel Filipijnse studenten dus die hebben al
heel veel tips gegeven
maar ja voor mij het leuke is is gewoon
een beetje rondrijden
ja wat strandjes bezoeken
misschien naar wat watervallen als die er zijn
ik weet het niet
en ja gewoon lekker relaxen
niet teveel
plannen van tevoren en een beetje
mijn neusje achter achteraan gaan
ja ja echt ontdekken inderdaad ja leuk ja
heb jij nog iets op de planning
ja
nee ja een de wereld in huis halen met
de baby die eraan komt
ja van mooie grote wereldkaarten
met allemaal dieren erop gekocht
maar het lijkt me wel heel leuk om met de baby
ook straks kleine reizen te maken
of juist wat verder
reizen wanneer die nog klein is
wanneer die nog
makkelijk misschien mee kan
voordat
ja voordat dat niet meer kan ik weet het niet
ja maar ja
ik denk wel aan ook aan Zuid Oost Azië
om daar naartoe te gaan
maar misschien ook een rondreis door Turkije
lijkt me heel leuk
want ik ik ga vaak naar de standaard plekken
of ik ben vroeger wel op de kustplaatsen geweest
maar ik denk dat er nog heel veel plekken in
steden in Turkije zijn die je makkelijk kan bezoeken
die heel die de moeite waard zijn
dus dat is ook wel op mijn lijstje
ja maar ook wel komt er
denk ik een periode aan van
vakanties waar je gewoon niks doet
alleen maar rusten en
lekker comfortabel bent in een plek
maar wie weet
zijn we heel erg avontuurlijk
en willen we juist heel veel op pad
dus het is heel
we gaan zien wat we hoe we het gaan meemaken
precies ja ik denk je hebt verschillende
reizigers ook met
baby's met kinderen
ook vaak als als we in de de Alpen zijn of zo of
ja in Italië in de bergen
je ziet heel vaak
families met hele jonge kinderen
soms zelfs ook met baby's erbij
en die door de bergen aan het trekken zijn
maar ja dat zit er echt met de paplepel ingegoten
denk ik voor mensen daar
om gewoon te gaan wandelen
maakt niet uit hoe oud je bent
of je kan mee met op de rug van papa bijvoorbeeld
precies zo'n mooie rugzak
ja ja precies
en ja ik heb ook wel mensen gezien in
Zuid Oost Azië die een beetje beetje backpack stijl
aan het rondreizen waren met het gezin
dus flashbacken
dat is met een koffer volgens mij ja
dat zou ik wel doen
ja en we hopen na 2 maanden
naar Frankrijk te kunnen voor een speciale gelegenheid
dus dat is onze eerste
doel om met de baby op reis te gaan naar Frankrijk
ja precies een makkelijk land om mee te starten denk ik
ik hoop het misschien eerst eerst naar
Frankrijk proberen
en dan daarna misschien naar Indonesië
daarna kunnen we alles aan
mooi ja ik ben ook benieuwd of
nou mensen een beetje een thuisgevoel hebben
in Nederland als ze in Nederland wonen natuurlijk
en
of dat lang heeft geduurd ook om dat gevoel te krijgen
en wat zijn de ja factoren
die jou die meespelen daarin
ja
maar ook wat mis je van je eigen thuis of ja thuisland
en hoe kan je dat hier ook vinden inderdaad
hoe doen we dat eigenlijk allemaal
